Adult Learn-to-Swim Programs in KENTUCKY

Join certified Adult Learn-to-Swim (ALTS) instructors and volunteer USMS members as they host FREE Adult Learn-to-Swim classes in Louisville at the Central High School, The Academy at Shawnee, and Mary T. Meagher Aquatic Center.

This curriculum was specially designed by U.S. Masters Swimming to help adults learn to swim, feel safe in the water, and enjoy the aquatic environment. This program is for adults with limited to no prior swimming experience or those who may even have a fear of water who wish to learn the basics of swimming:
•    Introduction to the Water/Overcoming Fear
•    Breathing and Submersion
•    Floating and Gliding (front & back)
•    Freestyle and Breathing
•    Treading Water
•    Jumping into Deep Water
•    Pool Exit
•    Other Strokes (elementary backstroke, breaststroke)

Free programming is made possible through a grant from the USMS Swimming Saves Lives Foundation
