Wildcat Masters Swim Team is an adult swim team run as an auxiliary program of UK Campus Recreation. Wildcat Masters offers coached and uncoached swimming opportunities for people 18 years and older. Members must be registered with U.S. Masters Swimming in order to practice. All participants must pay a minimum of three months to be a participant. As a Masters swimmer you may access the facility during practice times or recreational swim hours. The Masters program offers an excellent opportunity to make friends while you get in a great workout, refine your swimming skills, prepare for the local open water competition, train for a triathlon or prepare for USMS Nationals. The best thing about Masters is, it's whatever you want it to be!! Coverage with USMS liability insurance is only during scheduled Coached Masters Practices. There is a one-time team membership fee. Head Coach Susan Bradley-Cox has been coaching Wildcat Masters for 19 years. She competes on the international level in triathlon, and is a national Masters swimming champion. She coaches MWF afternoons; TTh nights; and Sundays.

Assistant Coach Kyle Jonas is a former standout high school and age-group swimmer. He has also competed in numerous sprint triathlons and has ridden his bicycle across the United States with his father. In addition, he is a UK alumnus pursuing another degree in athletic training at EKU. He is also an LAC lifeguard supervisor and American Red Cross LGI and WSI instructor. He is a current age-group coach with the Lexington Dolphin Swim Team.

Assistant Coach Chrislyn Ruddy is a former high schoo and age-group swimmer and current age-group assistant coach with the Lexington Dolphins. She is also an LAC lifeguard supervisor and American Red Cross LGI and WSI instructor.

Assistant Coach Clifton Cox is a guest coach for some Sunday practices. He is a current Wildcat Aquatics coach, former Lexington Y Dolphins head coach, and Washington Township Swim Team (Ohio) head coach. He was a standout age-group and high school swimmer. He is the facility manager for Lancaster Aquatic Center, CPO, American Red Cross WSI and LGI.

Written workouts are available at the front desk. Participants may utilize Lancaster Aquatic Center during regular Recreation Swim hours, which vary throughout the year; call 257-SWIM for more information. During Recreation Swim, lanes must be shared and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Masters must observe pool rules and staff directions.


All participants must be members of United States Masters Swimming. Make check out to Kentucky Masters Swimming and send along with signed registration form to Kentucky registrar Susan Ehringer, at the address on the form. Or register online!

Swimmers who want to affiliate with Wildcat Masters, but want to practice on their own at a pool other than Lancaster Aquatic Center, do not have to pay dues to Wildcat Masters. They need only register with Kentucky Masters Swimming as a member of Wildcat Masters.

In order to control entry into Lancaster Aquatic Center, Masters swimmers will be required to show their USMS registration card and Big Blue Campus Rec ID card to the ID desk attendant to scan. Your name will be checked against a list of paying team members. Individuals who have not paid their monthly dues will not be admitted to the facility. UK students, faculty, staff may still swim if they have their UK ID with them, but not with the Masters team at any workout any time. You must apply in person for your Big Blue Campus Rec ID card at Membership Sales in the Lancaster Aquatic Center.

Regular business hours: 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday; noon-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
